Privacy Policy

Summary

RateVault does not require an account, does not collect personal information, does not sell personal information, and does not include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

The app uses the internet only to download exchange-rate data and to open an optional external support link.

Information the App Handles

RateVault processes the amounts you type into the converter only on your device. Entered amounts are used to calculate conversions in the app interface and are not saved by RateVault or sent to VaultApps.

RateVault saves the following non-personal app data locally on your device:

• Cached exchange-rate data.
• The time the rates were last updated.
• Your selected currency list and order.
• Your theme preference.

This local data is used to make the app work offline and remember your preferences. VaultApps does not receive this local data.

Exchange-Rate Updates

To update rates, RateVault sends a request to ExchangeRate-API's open endpoint at:

https://open.er-api.com/v6/latest/MUR

The app requests exchange rates only. It does not include your entered amounts, selected currencies, name, email address, account details, location, contacts, or any app-specific user identifier in this request.

As with any internet request, the exchange-rate provider and network intermediaries may receive technical information such as your IP address, request time, and device or browser information. ExchangeRate-API is a service of AYR Tech (Pty) Ltd. Their terms include privacy information at https://www.exchangerate-api.com/terms.

Optional Ko-fi Link

RateVault includes an optional "Buy me a coffee" link that opens Ko-fi in your browser or another external app:

If you open that link, you leave RateVault. Ko-fi and any payment providers you choose to use may collect information according to their own policies. Ko-fi's privacy policy is available at https://more.ko-fi.com/privacy. RateVault does not collect payment details.

Permissions

On Android, RateVault requests internet access so it can download exchange rates and open external links. The app does not request access to sensitive device features such as location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or calendar.

Data Sharing

VaultApps does not sell, rent, or share personal information from RateVault because RateVault does not collect personal information.

Technical information may be processed by third-party services when the app fetches exchange rates or when you open an external link, as described above.

Data Retention and Deletion

The local app data listed in this policy remains on your device until it is replaced by newer app data, cleared through your device settings, or removed when you uninstall the app.

You can delete RateVault's local data by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

RateVault is a general-purpose utility app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

RateVault keeps its app data on your device using the storage mechanisms provided by your operating system. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but the app is designed to avoid collecting personal information in the first place.

Changes to This Policy

VaultApps may update this policy if RateVault's features, data practices, or third-party services change. The updated policy will include a new effective date.
